So nice to see Manning's arse stapled to the bench in the second quarter and then when he came out he did nothing. Good for the Saints winning the super bowl in their first appearance.

I didn't find it to be a great game, except for a couple plays (i.e. onside kick...and Peyton's choke interception!).

Watching Manning choke in a big game again was fun to watch...and Brees winning is a slap in the face to Chargers fans.

Sean Payton is an outstanding coach...who I thought was an absolute moron for not kicking the field goal from the 1 yard line in the 2nd quarter.

Thought that was a pretty big risk as well. I mean it worked out in the end but heaven forbid the lose that game by 2 points.

Watching Manning choke is probably the 2nd best thing that could happen in the NFL for me. #1 being the Steelers winning. I don't know what it is about him, but I just never liked him.

People ask me the same thing - why don't I like him.

IMO, he just has a confidence about him (i.e. "Dumb idiot kicker") and when he loses, or does poorly, the look of pure dejection on his face, with the, "How could this happen to me...?" look just led me to enjoy watching him fail.

LMAO, I loved seeing that look in the second. It's funny you ask most people that dislike him and that is one of the reasons.

I also hate Manning, and I also can't really pinpoint the reason. Maybe because of his baby face. I'm not sure, but I LOVED seeing him lose! The Colts are my least favourite team.

What bothers me about Manning is more the fans... that he's the epitome of an identity that's bigger than the team.

I also think he was funnier than hell on SNL.  Watch this and tell me there's not part of you that likes Peyton:

Sean Peyton has balls of steel.

The Saints deserved to win that game.  Brees was great once he calmed down a bit (the first two drives you could see the jitters).

I was about ready to hang Peyton after he called the same stupid run play twice in a row on the 1 yard line, he lucked out that the colts decided not to capitalize on their mistake and just ran it 3 times and punted.

Then the second half started with the onside kick and Peyton had renewed my faith in him as a coach.

Massive steel balls on that man.

I was perfectly okay with that call actually. I was hoping they would go for the TD like they did. And it ended up not hurting them, because they got the FG before the end of the half anyway.

Yeah, I disagreed with that call too.  You never take points off the board and that FG gave them 3

I'm okay in theory with the concept of going with it.  Calling the same run play that just failed miserably was something I was not at all okay with.

That's fair. At least they switched it up when going for 2 after their TD in the 2nd half.

If it would have ended up hurting them - say, they lose by 2 points - would you still have been ok with the call?  It ended up working out - but that was only because the Colts were dumb and didn't try and get a 1st down.

I was listening to the local radio station today and they were talking about how they simulated the game on friday and the score was 31-17 for the Saints. Oddly enough neither guy took the bet, but the one guy went out and bought more sports games to try his new theory out  ::)
