I'm with Spector on this one. Avery has cleaned up his act because he was told to. And if Avery has made some real changes in his attitudes, we'll have to take him on his actions, but we don't need to take him on his word, because you know where his words have gotten him in the past.

Can't have guys that cause trouble in the NHL.  Need to act swiftly to shut that kind of thing down to protect the players.

It's sarcasm on my part.  The league goes after Avery with a zeal that should be directed someplace useful, like protecting their players heads and not the ears of some 12 year old who hears much worse at school every day of the week.

Exactly!  I have never seen Avery, as a Ranger (both stints), take a cheap shot or try to hurt a player whether it was kneeing or running a player.  Yeah, he may crash the net but he never takes out a goalie with intent to injure, rather intent to to frazzle or annoy or just piss people off.  I don't condone the crazy or even sometimes stupid stuff he has said, but the last thing one would call this guy is a 'dirty player' or a 'cheapshot artist'.  There are other expletives he brings upon himself.
